AUSTIN SHENTON

OWNER AND HEAD INSTRUCTOR

A Bellingham native, Austin was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 5th round of the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Florida International University. Throughout his first professional year, Austin played for both the Everett AquaSox and the West Virginia Power.

Growing up, athletics played a major role in Austin's life. A multi-sport athlete, who also played football, basketball and tennis for Bellingham High School, Shenton hit .472 with a .700 on-base percentage his senior year and was chosen first-team all-Northwest Conference. He was also a first-team all-NWC pick in tennis with a 21-3 record.

Prior to his pro debut, he began his collegiate career with Bellevue College before traveling across the country to play two seasons with Florida International University. After winning Perfect Game Summer Collegiate Player of the Year honors prior to his junior season with the Panthers, Shenton was then selected by the Mariners in the 5th round of the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

He opened his professional career with Short-A Everett, reaching base safely in all 21 games he appeared. Following a three-week stint with the AquaSox, Austin was then promoted to A West Virginia in the South Atlantic League where he continued his stellar season.

After relentlessly battling back from many forms of adversity, Austin has taken the experience he's gained, along with his love for sports, to open 1-FOR-1 Training where he aims to give athletes the necessary tools to be successful both on and off the field.
